Project Description: Multi- flora Rose - In most locations multi-flora rose will not have to be handled. Use loppers to cut the branches of the rose bush into short pieces and let them lay flat on the ground where they fall. Saw off the stump at ground level. Uproot the stump with a shovel or mattock.

    Grape Vine - Cut the grape vine off at ground level and six feet above the ground.  An adult leader to spray "Roundup" on the grape vine stump.

    The GTW Coordinator will assign an area for your unit to remove multi-flora rose and or grapevine when you check in for the Good Turn Weekend. Check with the GTW Coordinator to receive your "Thorn & Vine Buster" token and patch, for Scouts and Adults that worked more than 4 hours on this project.

Project Description: Maintain Bill's Bog, place wood chips on trail if available, re-new lashings as needed on fence and general clean up of area. Cut brush on south side of road under power line.

Project Description: 1. Cut brush and weed to water level around School House pond.
2. Remove small trees and brush on north side of Akela Road at the large entrance sign. Cut all vegetation to ground level 10' behind ditch from North Parking Lot drive to the drive to storage building.

3. Remove all trees and brush from down stream slope of dam.
4. Remove other small trees and brush as directed.

5. Drag all trees and brush into wooded area.

May 1 or 15 - Project No.: 0108,  Area in camp: Turkey Ridge, Project Name: Destroy Multi-flora Rose & Grape Vine - May 1 or 15 Assigned to: X Need more Troops 2010

Project Description: Multi- flora Rose - In most locations multi-flora rose will not have to be handled. Use loppers to cut the branches of the rose bush into short pieces and let them lay flat on the ground where they fall. Saw off the stump at ground level. Uproot the stump with a shovel or mattock.

    Grape Vine - Cut the grape vine off at ground level and six feet above the ground.  An adult leader to spray "Roundup" on the grape vine stump.

    The GTW Coordinator will assign an area for your unit to remove multi-flora rose and or grapevine when you check in for the Good Turn Weekend. Check with the GTW Coordinator to receive your "Thorn & Vine Buster" token and patch, for Scouts and Adults that worked more than 4 hours on this project.

Project No.: 0111 Area in camp: Calumet Project Name: Clear trees Assigned to: X 2009 - N

Project Description: Just before entering Calumet there is an area just north call “The Knob”

Clear all brush and trees down to the ground (to permit grass to planted and mowed) with in a area marked with yellow safety tape.  Any trees not to be cut will be marked with a painted stripe.  This is a large area, any trees to be remove by chain saw will require the operator to have completed the Boy Scouts of America “Chain Saw Safety Course” Trees to be cut up to fire wood size and all brush to be pile in large brush piles.

Project Description: At the Shot gun range, clear all brush to the ground and trim all low tree branches up to 8 ft off of the trees in an area marked with yellow ribbon.  Build large brush piles back in the woods outside of the marked area

Materials, Tools and  Labor provided by Assigned Unit: TOOLS: Gloves, rake, splitting mull, splitting wedges, pickup truck and chain saw.  No youth to handle power tools or fuel.  Anyone operating a chain saw or log splitter on Buckeye Council property must have completed the BSA Chainsaw Safety Training course. LABOR: All day.

Project Description: Last year we rebuilt part of the retaining wall in the area of the boat docks, Rebuild the next section between last years work and the swimming docks,( this will require boys to be in knee deep water ). Build wall out of RR Ties, and drive pipe on each side of RR ties to hold in place, Work Area will be marked.
